There’s only one Glastonbury – and there’s always something happening in the town that gave its name to a festival.
Nowhere else on the planet could a small rural community (pop. less than 10,000) band together and paint their town turquoise, producing a celebration of arts and music, featuring as many as fifteen wildly different events every day, for a full eleven days, in thirty different venues. What other small rural town even has thirty different venues?
That was Glastonbury Fringe in 2012, its inaugural year.
One year later, and we’re doing it again.
We’re inviting the world to come and enjoy 11 days of music, art and entertainment, in the town that gave its name to a festival in England: Glastonbury, Somerset.
Please note: this is NOT a “festival”, and we’re not trying to compete with the goings-on seven miles down the road at Worthy Farm. The town of Glastonbury is the star of this show!
Like last year, we expect an enormous range of independently organized events – music, art, dance, drama, comedy, crafts, music and more music. A lot of local talent, plus performers from as far afield as Soweto in South Africa, and of course the occasional star turn from famous friends.
Glastonbury Fringe is a genuine, grass-roots effort, made possible – as all the best community initiatives are – by love, luck, talent, hard work and a lot of Glastonbury magic.
CONTACT the Fringe team via: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Fringe events are all being independently organised by promoters, venues and artists.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN APPEARING AT THE FRINGE YOU SHOULD MAKE CONTACT WITH THEM OR ORGANISE YOUR OWN EVENT AND SUBMIT IT TO US FOR INCLUSION.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND REQUESTS TO PERFORM OR DEMOS TO THE FRINGE OFFICE – WE ARE UNABLE TO HELP.
